About Us image
Established in 1997, The club had its 25th Anniversary in 2022.

We are an Angling Trust Registered Club.

Starting out as a Lincolnshire Ambulance NHS Trust service sports and social club in the April of 1997 in the cathedral city of Lincoln, the club's membership consisted of ambulance staff, support service professionals, family and friends across the county.

Whilst no longer associated with the ambulance service today, over the years the club has grown and prospered; which is a tribute to our angling members and friends who have served as officers since formation- those still fishing with the club, those who have moved away from the county, and those members and friends who have sadly since departed.

An important part of the clubs history was in the early 2000's when the club joined forces with members from Sleaford Angling Club. One of the officers from Sleaford served this club with distinction for many years, and we were all greatly saddened at his sudden passing in late 2023. Without the significant contribution of Terry Moss, both on and off the bank, this club would not be in the position it is today,

This club has a long and distinguished history of match fishing. The match series is an important part of what we do, however, as a club, we absolutely recognise that whilst this is an important part of club, there are other disciplines that our members enjoy: Sea fishing, both beach and boat, , Fly fishing, LRF, Specialist, River and Carp. We offer fun, friendship and fishing, no matter what your area of interest is, and, to be honest, this is YOUR club. So, Your voice and your ideas will help shape the future- whatever your discipline is.

Our three point strapline is Fun. Friendship and Fishing, and we would encourage all anglers from all disciplines of the sport to join us in supporting to share and help us and our partners in simply enjoying our fishing.

We anticipate a 30th Anniversary Celebration in 2027 which will hopefully be without any restrictions, COVID or otherwise.

Tight lines for the forthcoming season!

We have some absolutely fabulous carp waters in Lincolnshire. Including Danny Fairbrass's premium water at Norton Disney, close to Lincoln.

Sea
I''d really never sea fished in the UK before prior to meeting club member Mick B, who moved up to Lincoln from Devon. A sea fishing man. A good club man.

Mick taught me such a lot and continues to do so. We had a deal that I would teach him to fish Lincolnshire ponds and lakes which he hadn't done before and in return he would teach me beachcasting.

I have even fished competitions with Mick, notably the European Open Beach Championship (EOBC) which I think that every angler should have a go at at least once as it is quite an experience.

Mick is known simply as "The Skipper". Thank you mate for your friendship.

Mick writes:

"The EOBC runs every year around late February, early March and attacts upwards of 1500 anglers to the Holderness Coast between Spurn Point and Bridlington. It is a 4 day event, but you don't have to fish every day. There are some decent prizes for the biggest fish, usually a Cod or a Ray on the Saturday and Sunday of around £2k.

Competitors come from all over the world, Including Netherlands, Portugal, Belgium, Poland and The Irish Republic, and of course from all over the UK. It is the biggest competition of its kind in Europe.

I took a few novices from this club a couple of years ago and although it was hard going, our entire group was out fished by a novice!

I'd be happy to help and encourage any club member get into Beach Fishing. In fact I look forward to it."

Please contact us if you'd like to help Mick and the club grow our Sea Section.

FLY
Don't ever write off the power of the fly!!

As a novice, a few years ago I had a go at fly fishing at Toft Reservoir, near Market Rasen . This is a concrete bowl in the ground and is not very pretty to fish. After learning how to cast, we caught loads of fish. We even smoked the fish and it was very tasty indeed.

This got me into thinking fly.

So I tried big salmon flies for Bass on the North Cornish Coast. Remote location. Yep. Caught Bass. Great fun, and plenty of schoolies, but nothing to write home about. Nearly drowned. Beautiful summers day, but got caught in a freak swell and wave that knocked me off the rocks whilst wearing waders. Banged the old Turnip on the way down. Memo to self and to others: Respect the Sea: Do not fish remote spots on your own and be careful when wearing waders- they fill up with water very quickly and make any movement difficult. I was very, very lucky!

I rather confess that I am in truth a fly fishing peasant, but a trier. I enjoyed, and will continue to enjoy my adventures with my mates

We have some fly fishing lads who would love to meet you and share in some friendship if fly fishing is your thing!
